A founder who is raising sent you a link to their SeedForge Profile. SeedForge is what they used to put the whole company on one page: the deck, a short description, the team, and a deeper evaluation you can open if you want it. You need no account, and there is nothing to pay.
The message came from the founder
It was sent from the founder's own LinkedIn account.
The founder read it and approved it before it went out. SeedForge drafted it from their own material.
Your reply arrives in the founder's LinkedIn inbox and nowhere else. Anything you get back is written or approved by the founder before it reaches you.
SeedForge takes no share of any investment.
If you are a founder rather than an investor, you may have been asked for an introduction to a fund you have raised from. That request works the same way. It came from a founder, from their account, and they approved it before it was sent.
What you see when you open the link
1. The profile. The company name, the stage and the target, the deck already open at the top, a short description, and the team with their track record. Nothing is asked of you before the page loads.
2. The full evaluation, if you want it. Under the profile, a card asks whether the company is worth a closer look. Open the full evaluation and you get a written summary of the investment case, scored dimensions such as team and traction, the risks, the core tensions in the business, and the documents. Choose "Not for me" and it closes. The founder sees answers to that question only as anonymous counts, never who said what.
The evaluation is generated by SeedForge from the founder's own material and a recorded session with them. It is one reading of the company, and it is there to save you the first hour, not to replace your own.
What the founder can see about your visit
The same as a DocSend link. The founder can see that their link was opened, which sections were read and how long you spent. That is the whole of it. Nothing about you reaches the founder that you did not give them.
Documents work the same way as DocSend too. The deck and any other documents open in the page for you to read rather than downloading to your machine. Screenshots are always possible and we make no claim otherwise.
The first three times a link is opened, nothing is asked of you. On the fourth open the page asks for an email. That gate exists so a founder can tell when a link they sent to one person starts travelling further than they sent it.
What this costs you
Nothing. There is no account, no subscription and no paywall on a link a founder sends you. The founder pays SeedForge a flat $10 when a call is booked and a flat $10 when another founder offers them a warm introduction. SeedForge takes nothing on an investment.
If you want to know more about the company behind the link, it is seedforge.com.
If you would rather not be contacted
Write to support@seedforge.com and we will add you to our do not contact list, and SeedForge outreach will stop reaching you. The same address handles any request about your data.
Quick answers
Do I need an account, or to pay anything, to open the link?
No. The profile opens straight away. The only time you are asked for an email is the fourth time a single link is opened, which tells the founder their link has spread.
Did a person write the message I received?
Yes. SeedForge drafted it from the founder's material, the founder read, approved it or edited it, and it was sent from their own LinkedIn account. Your reply goes to the founder.
Can the founder see that I opened it?
Yes, the same way a DocSend link works. They see the link was opened, which sections were read and how long you spent.
Can I download the deck?
Documents open in the page rather than downloading, the same as a DocSend link. If you want a copy, ask the founder.
Does SeedForge take a fee if I invest?
No. The founder pays a flat $10 when a call is booked, and a flat $10 when a warm introduction is offered. Nothing is charged on an investment, and SeedForge is never in the meeting.
How do I stop receiving these?
Write to support@seedforge.com and we will add you to our do not contact list.
